Guided by the Information Center of the Central Network, China’s first “Public Cybersecurity Confidence Investigation Report (2015)†(hereinafter referred to as the “Reportâ€) was officially launched by the Institute of Electronic Science and Technology Information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The "Report" shows that 83.48% of netizens on the Internet have security risks.
According to Hong Jingyi, director of the Institute of Electronic Science and Technology Information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the survey lasted for one month and covered 31 provinces (regions, cities) in China. The main contents of the survey include: the mastery of network security basic skills and application security, the handling of network security incidents, and the familiarity with network laws and regulations. The survey collected a total of 254,600 valid online and offline questionnaires, of which respondents aged 7 to 39 accounted for 88% of the respondents.
The "Report" shows that at present China's public network security awareness is not strong, and network security knowledge and skills urgently need to be improved. In particular, the network security awareness of young people and the elderly needs to be strengthened.
For example, in terms of setting passwords, 81.64% of surveyed netizens do not pay attention to changing passwords regularly. Among them, 64.59% accounted for the replacement of passwords when they encountered problems, and 17.05% never changed passwords. In addition, 75.93% of surveyed netizens have the problem of “using multiple accounts with the same passwordâ€. This situation is even more serious among young Internet users, as high as 82.39%.
In terms of online payment, 83.48% of internet users’ online payment behavior has potential security risks. For example, 42.55% of netizens did not eliminate Internet traces after using public computer networks to pay; 38.96% of netizens used password-free wifi for online payment; in addition, 34.85% of netizens rushed to the Internet without carefully recognizing the payment page URL. Payment; There are still 4.04% of the surveyed Internet users, will disclose the verification code to others.
With the popularization of the Internet and the development of e-commerce, online payment applications are becoming more and more common. Online payment security is closely related to the vital interests of Internet users. However, the above behavior may directly lead to the disclosure of the payment password and the theft of the payment account. According to the "Report," only 16.52% of all respondents did not have these typical online payment security issues.
Hong Jingyi stated that in the future, the network security awareness survey activity will continue to be carried out, strive to objectively, comprehensively and systematically grasp the level of public cyber security awareness in China, and provide targeted data and decision support for targeted cyber security awareness education activities. .
