The packages on one-sided, one-way surfaces run at a constant speed of 2 m/s on an automatic sorting conveyor belt of more than 300 meters in length. There are hundreds of canvas bags on both sides of the conveyor belt. After scanning by laser, the parcels on the conveyor belt landed in the corresponding bags. Recently, the Zhongtong automatic sorting system was publicly exposed for the first time at the Shanghai transit center.
Zhang Fan, Deputy Director of Automation Operations at Shanghai Tongtong Express Transshipment Center, told reporters that this is an advanced automatic sorting system jointly developed by China Communications and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It can handle 18,000 pieces in one hour at a time, and the sorting accuracy rate is as high as 99.99%. According to 8 hours of work per day, the day is more than 140,000 pieces. The 140,000 operations are performed in 1000 calculations for one person in one class and 140 people are needed. Only 25 people are required after using the automated sorting line.
The on-line automatic sorting system also led the transformation and upgrading of China Express.
