Bulldozer Trinity APU consumes as low as 17W

AMD Llano APU integrates CPU modules, GPU graphics cores, Northbridge and many other modules. The thermal design power consumption is up to 100W in desktop computers and 35W in notebooks. It is already very good, and it will be even better.

AMD CFO and Interim CEO Thomas Seifert recently revealed: "We plan to introduce a (low-power) version of Trinity, which consumes less than half the power of today's most energy-efficient 35W Llano APU, bringing high value to ultralight notebooks. Performance calculation (experience)."

Trinity is AMD's next-generation mainstream APU, incorporating an enhanced bulldozer architecture and DX11 VLIW4 GPU graphics architecture. Although the manufacturing process is still 32nm like the Llano APU, it is believed that the Trinity APU can take a big step forward in both performance and power consumption.

Thomas Seifert added: "We have developed quite interesting specifications for power consumption. I am not quite sure if it is the right time to disclose the specific details of these products, but it is safe to say that we will continue to strive for leadership in the mobile space."

In fact, AMD is now paying more attention to the mobile sector than desktop desktops. This can be seen from the fact that Llano APU has secured advanced notebooks and priority shipment guarantees. According to the analysis of market research institutions, AMD will greatly increase its share in the mobile market.
