The designer from Zechner & Zechner ZTGmbH redesigned the railway system between the city centre of Vienna and the airport. The two stations that have recently completed are the "Vienna Airport" station and the "WienMitte" station. Through this redesign, the subway station of Vienna Airport was expanded, and the length of the platform was doubled. Designing a new entrance, passengers can access the new airport waiting room from the upgraded access. “WienMitte†also updated its internal facilities.
In this upgrade design, the designer focused on the improvement of lighting effects.
Install some lateral luminaires along the edge of the platform to distinguish the illuminated area of ​​the platform to achieve better illumination at the edge of the platform. Surface lighting fixtures are installed on the wall next to the escalator and at the entrance to the stairs to improve lighting and safety. Improve the guidance system by marking on the stairs. An embedded light is mounted on the ceiling of the "WienMitte" platform, giving the platform a wide-open visual experience. At the "Viennaairport station", spotlights illuminate the curved platform ceiling to create a roundabout lighting situation.
