UCC27531 Description
The UCC27531 is a single-channel, high-speed, gate driver that efficiently drives MOSFET and IGBT power switches with up to 2.5A source current and 5A sink current (asymmetric drive). The absorption capacity in a strong asymmetric drive increases the ability to resist the parasitic Miller turn-on effect. The UCC27531 device also features a separate output configuration in which the gate drive current is pulled from the OUTH pin and injected from the OUTL pin. This unique pinout allows the user to sample separate turn-on and turn-off resistors on the OUTH and OUTL pins and easily control the switch's slew rate.
This driver has rail-to-rail drive capability and a very small propagation delay of typically 17ns.
The input threshold for the UCC27531DBV is based on TTL and COMS compatible low voltage logic that is fixed and independent of the VDD supply voltage. Typical 1V hysteresis provides excellent immunity.
This driver has an EN pin that supports a fixed TTL compatible threshold. EN is internally pulled up; pulling EN low to disable the drive while leaving it open provides normal operation. The EN pin can be used as an additional input with the same performance as the IN pin.
Keeping the input pin of the drive open will keep the output low. The logical operation of the drive is displayed in the application diagram, timing diagram, and input and output logic truth tables.
The internal circuitry on the VDD pin provides an undervoltage lockout feature that keeps the output low until the VDD supply voltage is within the operating range.
The UCC27531 driver is available in a 6-pin standard SOT-23 (DBV) package. This device has a wide operating temperature range of -40 ° C to 140 ° C.
