The MB86H61 series chips are based on a multi-core CPU architecture. The main CPU uses advanced ARM11 (475DMIPS) for processing applications. The Video Video Decoding Unit uses Fujitsu's proprietary patented hardware video processor to decode full HD/SD MPEG-2. H.264, VC-1, AVS, FLV, MKV and other video formats. Among them, the support for full HD AVS video decoding is especially worth mentioning, because the AVS decoding that most HD chips on the market can support is still in the standard definition stage. The Audio Audio Decoding Unit uses the high-performance ARC725TM (594DMIPS) to flexibly support a variety of advanced audio formats such as DD, DD+, AAC, and DRA.

At the same time, the integration of this series of chips is further enhanced, and support for IP interaction is enhanced. It includes an Ethernet MAC and two USB MAC/PHYs. It can support multi-channel serial flash and single-chip 2Gb DDR2 memory to create a 2-layer board. The BOM of the whole machine can be minimized. In addition, this product follows the low power consumption characteristics of Fujitsu products. In its unique standby mode, the required power consumption is as low as 1 milliwatt, which is far lower than the EU power consumption standard.

This series of chips has been further divided for different application markets. For the pay-TV market, it supports advanced security CAS, supports CI/CI+, HD+, Subtitle, Teletext, PVR/Time Shifting, etc. For the middleware market, a professional graphics processing unit combining high-performance CPU and independent hardware acceleration engine, The graphics processing capability has been greatly improved, and the user interface effect of the middleware can be better reflected. Application developers can create dynamic, dazzling menu interfaces.

The support for Chinese standard AVS and DRA, as well as in-depth cooperation with unified open platform vendors and downloadable CA vendors, highlights Fujitsu's focus on the Chinese market. Fujitsu maintains good cooperation with cable TV operators and terrestrial TV operators in China. Its previous generation of high-definition chip MB86H60 series has been widely used in the Chinese cable TV market.
